Extra Info

Student Nationals

Registration cost: £15

Time start: 10am

Training

There will also be three extra sessions on each Saturday running up to the student nationals at 2pm – 3:30pm and they are FREE! It will be a chance for competitors to practice with their kata partners their embu routines and to practice Shiai. At one of these sessions there will be the application forms for you to fill out. It is up to you to find your partner; discuss what activities you are entering; and who is acting as uke and tori.

Logistics

This year we will not be taking the mini bus and will need to take the train or other forms of transport. However, the competitors may need to take more than one train and travel to and from Sheffield to Nottingham, if accommodation can not be found in Nottingham.

Accommodation

TBC – I am awaiting confirmation on whether any Nottingham students can house competitors. If not, we will have to investigate hotels, airb&b or commute to and from Sheffield.

Koshiyama Cup

This is an international competition that is going to be held in Geneva, Switzerland. We want as many SAUK competitors to attend, including students. There is often a lot of Kyu grades and so please if you want to go and have the means, go!

If you are having some financial issues, there is a chance you could receive some sponsorship of up to £100 from the dojo to help with your expenses. If this is something you are interested in, please write a formal application explaining why you want to compete and email it to secretary@sheffieldaikido.og.uk before the 24/03/18. Please bear in mind if your application is successful, a certain amount of commitment to training will be required i.e. attend two randori sessions per week out of three (Monday, Wednesday and Friday).

Additional information about the event will be attached.

Any additional information or changes will be sent out. Train hard everybody!
